Caring for Creation

Collect canned goods for a local food pantry

  • Let children choose a few items while food shopping
  • Talk about helping families who need extra support

November--
Gratitude Month

Create a “Thankful Basket”

  • Each family member writes or draws something they are thankful for every day
  • Deliver homemade cookies or a thank-you note to a community helper

December--
Spreading Light

Donate gently used toys and books

  • Encourage children to choose toys they are no longer use
  • Discuss how sharing brings joy to others

Warm Hearts

Make Winter Care Kits

  • Fill bags with socks, gloves, granola bars, and encouraging notes
  • Donate to a local shelter or community organization
  • Have a playdate with a new family
  • Bake cookies for a new neighbor or someone living alone

Love and Friendship

Perform secret acts of kindness

  • Set the table without being asked
  • Draw a picture for a sibling
  • Help a parent fold laundry

Celebrating Community

Prepare Purim gift bags (Mishloach Manot)

  • Delvier treats to neighbors, teachers, or someone who may feel lonely
  • Include a homemade card

Freedom Through Giving

Create “Passover Blessings Bags”

  • Decorate bags and fill them with toiletries or snacks for families in need
  •  Talk about helping others feel cared for and free from worry

Honoring Those Who Help Us

Thank Community Helpers

  • Deliver flowers or cards to firefighters, police officers, nurses, or teachers
